How to crimp the dove tail?

I bought some RJ45 connectors, but I am struggling to crimp the dovetail. Any suggestions on how to crimp it easily? I checked my crimping tool but it seems doesn’t have this crimping function!

Usually, the RJ45 crimping tool achieves the function of crimping dovetail by the part similar to the one shown in the following figure, and you can confirm whether your crimping tool has a similar part.
If your tool has the feature to crimp the dovetail, you can make the fixed buckle closer first and then crimp it with the crimping tool. If your tool does not have a crimp dovetail feature, you can use pliers with duller jaws to crimp the dovetail instead, which usually accomplishes a similar purpose.

You can search for videos on YouTube. There are many operation videos with explanations.

Some specialized crimping tools are designed for this purpose, but if not available, using regular pliers to secure the cable is also acceptable as long as it ensures a tight grip and doesn’t loosen.

I’ve used crimping tools that have a dovetail crimp feature, but they don’t work very well. Regular pliers may be better for crimping the dovetail, but they tend to hurt the cable. :smiling_face_with_tear:
