RJ45 110 Punch Down Tool Sticking - Normal or Issue?

Hello fellow network enthusiasts!

I’ve recently encountered an issue with my RJ45 110 Punch Down Tool. It seems to get stuck during the punch-down process. I’m curious to know if this is a normal occurrence or if there might be an underlying issue causing this.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? If so, could you share your insights on whether this is considered normal wear and tear, or if there might be a specific reason for the tool to get stuck? I want to ensure the integrity of my network installations and would appreciate any advice or experiences you can provide.

Thanks in advance for your input!

What specific part are you referring to when you say it is stuck? Can you provide a picture?

Sorry, I don’t have a way to take a picture right now, it’s just that the cutter head gets stuck and won’t crimp when pressed.

I think you’d better ensure your punch-down tool is compatible with your device. Under normal circumstances, there is some resistance to punching the wire. Still, if you can’t finish the operation with more significant external force, it may be due to the mismatch between the punch-down tool and your device.
