Can anyone tell us the difference between ip68 and ip67? I want to buy one for my outdoor CCTV and I don’t know what to choose
IP67 and IP68 have the following differences
Dust Resistance: IP67 and IP68 offer complete dust protection, the difference being that IP68 supports complete dust resistance while IP67 are virtually dustproof but may allow some dust to enter in some cases.
Waterproofing: IP68 offers a higher level of waterproofing protection than IP67. IP68-rated devices can be submerged in water to a depth of more than 1 meter for extended periods (exact depth and time specified by the manufacturer). IP67-rated equipment can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes without any damage.
When using a CCTV camera outdoors, it is advisable to consider the environmental conditions to which it will be exposed. If a higher waterproof rating is required or if you plan to immerse the camera in water, a camera with an IP68 rating would be more suitable. However, if only occasional splashes or rain are encountered, an IP67 rating will suffice.
