I was making my network cable this afternoon. I wasted 8 RJ45 connectors but still didn’t make it. The cable tester shows that cores 4 and 6 do not signal. Why?
According to your description, it can be inferred that you are using RJ45 connectors that require crimping tools for termination. In this case, you can observe whether your contacts perform well or if there is any contact skew after crimping. If your contacts on pins 4 and 6 appear skewed or misaligned after crimping, there is likely an issue with your crimping tool.
If the contacts perform consistently after crimping, there is probably a problem with your Ethernet cable or RJ45 connector. You can replace the cable and use different RJ45 connectors to determine which component is causing the issue.
I hope you can resolve the problem you are experiencing soon, as continuously encountering errors with eight RJ45 connectors can be frustrating.
Verify your tester. If your tester is functioning properly, there may be an issue with your connection. Inspect the wires labeled as no.4 and no.6, as they might not be securely crimped in place. Consider remaking the ethernet cable.
Maybe you failed to crimp them.
Double-check your wiring. Make sure that you have correctly wired the cable according to the T568A or T568B standard. It’s essential to maintain consistency throughout both ends of the cable.
You should double-check whether your operation process is correct, if the core wire has successfully passed through the rj45 connector, and if it has been successfully crimped. The size compatibility between the core wire and the rj45 connector is a crucial factor affecting the success of the operation.
Thank you for your reply, I tried it today and realized it was my tester that was broken. After replacing the tester the test was normal, I didn’t think I could actually make it, it’s just great!
