I don’t have an iPhone to HDMI adapter, and I want to screen mirror my iPhone to the TV to view the pictures I took over the weekend. I just can’t seem to succeed, it’s really frustrating! 
Are your iPhone and Smart TV connected to the same Wi-Fi? 
yea, both use my home wifi
Is your TV an Apple TV or a regular Smart TV? If it is Apple TV, then under normal circumstances, the Airplay casting function should be able to be used; if it can not be used to, suggest trying to restart the device and if it still can not be connected, suggest consulting Apple customer service. You need to install some software if it is a regular smart TV. The specific software is recommended according to the TV, and the TV App Store can download the software and try to connect the operation. But if your smart TV does not support the Airplay casting function, your iPhone and smart TV need to download the casting software to realize the casting function.
