Why is my internet speed getting slower?

I purchased an RJ45 coupler to connect the internet cable in my living room to my laptop, but I found that my internet speed has slowed down. What could be the reason for this?

There are many factors that can affect internet speed, such as transmission distance, location, and time. Additionally, using an RJ45 coupler to extend the network cable is like having a relay station, which can somewhat impact the internet speed.

There are many reasons that may lead to a decrease in Internet speed. Suppose you add the RJ45 coupler to extend the cable. In that case, the factors that lead to a reduction in Internet speed may be the quality of your RJ45 coupler or poor shielding performance, resulting in a damaged connection. Interference from external signals, resulting in a decrease in Internet speed; or because of the use of the RJ45 coupler to extend the cable, the overall length of the cable is too long, causing the signal to attenuate, resulting in slower Internet speed.

It is possible that the coupler connection is not secure or not correctly aligned, resulting in a poor bond and increased signal interference. You can check the cable connections to ensure the coupler is securely connected, and the ends are aligned correctly.
